Walking uses most areas in the body; feet, legs, hips, core and arms. However, since most of us have stiff parts of the body from spending much of our day still in chairs, we are not able to move all our parts with ease and end up overusing some parts of the body and underusing others. In this way, walking can become a problem for sore feet, knees, low backs and weaker pelvic floors.

Location: Oak Tree Gallery, Helensburgh

In this workshop you will learn how to :

  • Mobilise the stiffest parts of your hips, feet and ankles that can limit walking efficiency

  • Specifically strengthen your most powerful walking muscles

  • Support your low back, knees and pelvic floor during challenging hikes

  • Approach uphill, downhill and flat & level walking

  • Align your body for optimal bone strengthening while walking

  • Use your upper body for stronger walking

We will have two 90 minute studio sessions with an instructed outdoor walk and lunch break in between.
